Danny McNie - Go The Distance Live!

Friends,

As promised, attached is my 'featured song' in the show. This was taped on my birthday at the matinee performance at the Tokyo International Forum, in front of 5,000 people! A day I'll never forget. I still pinch myself, all the time, that I've been given the opportunity to sing with such a gifted and beautifully talented orchestra! Listen to them play, it's amazing. I'm truly honored and humbled by this experience.

I'll never forget this time in my life...

Love,
Danny McNie

Enjoy the video I put together featuring parts of the day which included: A bidet, cake, surprises, free shampoo, homemade cookies and maybe a gift shipped from America! Oh, by the way, during all of these video's we were filming the DVD of our concert. Both matinee and evening shows were taped in front of a live audience of more than 10,000 people total! INSANE!!!!

Music Brings Joy...

Friends,

After our show the other night, we were asked to stick around to meet an audience member from that evening's show. We got dressed and went to meet this incredible women. She was born with sight but somehow down the line she lost her vision, and is now blind and has other physical issues. However, she remembers image's from Disney movies from her childhood. She's now studying at a University here in Japan and Disney music is her favorite. Also, her English was spot on! I can barley get by in this country by being able to say hello and thank you! Impressive to say the least. It was such an honor to meet such a sweet, SMART, precious human who appreciates the gift and joy of music more than I'll ever be able to understand. The joy she showed just by meeting us made the tour for me. She loves ALL Disney movies and "doesn't have a favorite movie, I love them all!" It was a precious moment shared by all parties and I'll never forget her.

A Step Forward, A Step Backwards

Dear Friends,

My blog was made to share my experiences across the world, laugh at all the stupid things I do, share my quarks, poke fun at myself and the people I work with, and maybe a performance here and there. However, it was not made for me to chat about politics. Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with that, in fact, I think it's healthy to have discussions but this will be one of the very few I'll chat about.

Yesterday, I woke up early on our day off, and joined some of my cast mates to watch an historic moment (pic attached Tony Clemmons copyright).

An African American President or a Women as Vice President will take office for the first time in our nations history. If you ask me, that's EXCITING!

I couldn't be more happier and proud to walk around Japan knowing Mr. Obama is our president elect.

That being said, States passed "propositions" that boggle my mind. Are gay men and women second class citizens in this country? In 2008?!? Really, people? As someone who's best friend is adopted, states passed laws to ban loving, caring gay men and women to save a child and give them a better life. I can't put my head around it. And it makes me VERY, very sad and ill.

And it's time for folks to understand that no matter who you are, gay, straight, black, white, Asian, Indian, etc. etc. etc. we are all human and should respect one another and be equals. Listen to President Elect Obama's speech. I know so many couples who planned ceremonies in California, so they could have the same legal rights as any other straight couple, who are now left in the dust. And that breaks my heart.

So, to me, this election was a step forward and a step backwards.

Danny McNie's Video Blog: A Week in Seoul, Korea

Hey everyone!

It's been a great run in Seoul, Korea. The audiences have been INCREDIBLE, the theatre (4,000 seats) was packed each night and it was by far the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. We go back to Japan tomorrow and the tour continues throughout the country. We received CD's of our opening night and I'll post my number soon...

Watch the video and please keep checkin in!!
Hope all is well and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!!
